YOUR ROCKING HORSE KIT:

Hardware and Materials

Whether you are making or restoring a beloved rocking horse, you are going to need to source the right materials and hardware for the job. Here we’ve put together a short guide listing the materials and fittings for making a quality rocking horse.

MATERIALS

LEATHER

At Abbey, we know leather, and source only the best for our customers. We are the UK distributors of J&E Sedgwick & Co. and Pittard’s leathers, and stock a wide range of vegetable tanned leathers and chromed tanned leathers. Here are our popular choices for making saddle, bridle and reins.  The 1900 Collection offers a dry sealed finish, while the bridle is open poured. Our nappa sheepkin is chrome tanned and offer a good selection of colours for lining purposes.
